MONITORING AND EVALUATION
ANALYSIS OF THE QUESTIONNAIRES
Introduction
Given the particularity of the target, it was necessary, as already mentioned,
to simplify the processing of the questionnaires, following both the training
and personal dynamics of the users; the methods used were the most appropriate
to measure the appreciation without irritating the students.
STUDENT QUESTIONNAIRES ON THE "DAUNIA" MODULES; COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES
AND TOOLS, BUSINESS AND HANDICRAFTS
The questionnaire was submitted to the 30 students of both courses.
The knowledge passed on, obviously new for most of the students (almost
90%) has been well inserted as regards the utility in the near working future,
since they have been defined useful for an independent working activity
(30%), to look for any type of employment (26.6%), for their own future
(30%).
The lessons given by the teachers were accompanied mainly by written exercises
and guided visits that were attended with enthusiasm by the students.
The teachers prepared some simple lecture notes for the students, who have
found them satisfying and useful; the lessons were given by teachers considered
well prepared and capable of explaining well the content of the lessons.
Some less positive opinions have been recorded, for all the teachers, regarding
the capability to involve the students, mostly in terms of availability
towards the students.
The tutors carried out their basic role of support to the training and
mostly the rehabilitation of young people in trouble; among the tasks carried
out by the tutors, the students point out mostly the "control"
of the classroom (they maintain order for 30% of the students), the material
and affective support to young people in trouble (33.3%), the availability
to deal with the students' various problems (30%).
In general the students are quite satisfied/satisfied (respectively 50%
and 43.3%) of those who attended the modules concerning Daunia, computer
technologies and tools, business and handicrafts;
The relationship between the students and the organisation is absolutely
positive, because the latter placed their interests at the centre of the
training.
QUESTIONNAIRES FOR THE STUDENTS OF THE "JEWELLERY" COURSE
ON THE MODULE "MARKETING AND BUSINESS ECONOMICS"
The questionnaire was submitted to 21 students of the two courses.
The students consider the subjects dealt with in this module very important,
which they consider useful for their future working activity (23%), useful
in general to look for any type of employment (23%) and however interesting.
The training included traditional lessons and many group activities, using
the PC to verify and fix better the concepts they had learned.
The teaching was considered quite satisfying, whereas the teachers are
also a point of reference for the students' needs and demands.
The atmosphere in the classroom is fairly positive (this module was dealt
with in the first months of the course) and the opinions on the fellow students
are definitely in contrast: 71.4% felt at ease, the others find that their
fellow students disturbed the activities of the courses, they feel tension
in the classroom do not easily make friends.
The tutor's role was confirmed as essential, having constantly supported
the students in the training activities and the helped them to carry out
difficult tasks and activities and supplied material and answers to their
demands.
The relationship with the organisation continued to be positive and the
students were quite satisfied, saying they were ready to "do it all
again", but wanting to change some of their fellow students' behaviour.
QUESTIONNAIRES FOR THE STUDENTS OF THE "CERAMICS CRAFTSMEN"
ON THE MODULE "DAUNIA CERAMICS"
The students filled in 8 questionnaires.
The students have obviously received specific training on subjects and
techniques they had never dealt with before, except for two of them who
had previous experience in this field.
The strong majority (75%) realised that they were given a chance they should
not lose for their future search for employment.
The didactic activities (lessons, group activities and manual work) appeared
to be appropriate to involve the students in an active way, obviously with
a strong preference for manual activities.
Relationships within the classroom were perceived mostly as positive (75%);
the students' appreciation of the teacher was medium-high regarding the
level of competence an the ability to explain and involve the class.
The relationship with the tutor appeared to be essential having helped
the students with problems, maintaining order and supplying support didactic
material.
The tutor, with the teachers, represented an intermediary allowing the
students to express their needs that have been agreed upon and satisfied.
The students are more than satisfied, to the point that if they had the
chance to, they would not change the method or the contents of the module.
QUESTIONNAIRES FOR THE STUDENTS OF THE "JEWELLERY" COURSE
ON THE MODULE "PRECIOUS METALS - JEWELLERY WORKSHOP"
The questionnaire was submitted to all the students.
This module with a highly technical content arose the students' interest,
who saw an immediate application of the acquired specialised competence
in a working activity.
The student followed the training activities (including theoretical practical
and manual activities) with great interest and said they were enthusiastic
about having learned "new things"; the activity they were most
interested in was obviously the manual work.
The atmosphere at this point of the course appeared to be more troubled
than previously, probably because of the long cohabitation.
In this regard, the tutor's role was very important for the support given
to the students, mostly helping the ones in trouble (53%) and those having
problems with the manual work and tending to be discouraged (26%).
The teacher-master is evaluated with medium-high opinions both on the technical
competence and for methods chosen to build a relationship with the students
and involve them in the training activities.
In the students' opinion, the teachers and the tutors represented an intermediary
to express their needs together with other organisational staff of the Istituto
San Giuseppe and the social worker.
Generally the students felt satisfied and able to continue along the direction
they had taken.
